HERE'S THE STORY:
I've been teaching and tutoring since 2001; I qualified from Liverpool University with a BEd (Hons) and full QTS. I have mostly taught Year 5 and 6 children (9 to 11 year olds) although I have also taught Year 3 and 4 children (7 to 8 year olds). I specialise in teaching upper juniors and have enjoyed significant success at this.
Many of the children I have worked successfully with, have barriers to learning due to SEND and or trauma. Equally, I've worked and achieved successes with gifted and talented children.
Ultimately, I value each and every child for their own unique learning journey, including their aspirations and interests. It is my belief that we can all achieve, we just need to find our way and that's where I come in. Many of the children I have taught or tutored have referred to it as Mrs Harrison's Magic!
One to One Tuition
The ultimate in tuition - specifically designed lessons for your child's needs. This is the perfect choice to build on your son's or daughter's confidence and self-esteem. The learning will be challenging yet designed to build on each success. Their love of learning will grow with each session.
Group Tuition
Designed for groups of 3 to 5 (max) students. Frequently, many children perform better whilst learning alongside their peers; they learn from one another as much as from a teacher or tutor. Also, children are likely to see it as a club; this will certainly motivate them both in terms of their participation and attendance.

Once your child has started to participate with me in my online sessions, I will have a good knowledge of their needs, in terms of how they need to improve as well as what their fears are. This combination will enable me to tutor them effectively so each session will see them become more confident and resilient in their own learning. Each session will make them more affirmed in themselves. Confident children make for confident learners.

Make the Most of Your Time
Often, formal education doesn't have the time or space to remedy misconceptions or to ensure that children master concepts by a given time. However, as your personal tutor I will recover, review and ensure that learning is mastered to the best of your child's ability. This is possible as I will be working with your child on a one to one basis or as part of a small group of up to 5 (max) instead of a class of 30 plus, which is the size of most state school classes.

Primary education is frequently overlooked however it provides the foundation to the rest of a child's future. The basics of Mathematics and English, which can be subdivided into reading and writing, provide the essential skills for life.
